Human Resource Management Objectives

 

“HRM is management function concerned with hiring, motivating and maintaining people in an organization. It focuses on people in Organization” (Aswathappa, 2008). Today human factor considered to be the most valuable asset in an organization. HRM activities are consist of planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, remuneration, welfare, safe and healthy work environment and industrial relations. These functions make sure the organization working in correct path.

The primary objective of the human resource management is to ensure the availability of competent and willing workforce in the organization. (Aswathappa, 2005). Other than that there are many objectives too.


1.      Social objective

2.      Functional objectives

3.      Organizational objectives

4.      Personal objectives

 

1. Social objectives.

Social objective of the HRM is to make sure the organization is socially and ethically responsible. All the rules, regulations and laws must be fulfilled and organization should work in a good interest of the society. Human resource management personals have to make availability of equality within the organization.

·         Benefits

·         Union management relationship

This will benefits the organization to enrich the relationship between workforce and management and minimize the negative social impact on the organization.

 

 

 

2. Functional objectives.

Functional objective of the human resource management is to contribute to enhance the effectiveness of the organization. HR department activities must suit the organizational requirements.

3. Organizational objectives.

Human resource management is to serves the organization to achieve its primary objectives. Human resource department also serves the other departments in the organization.

4. Personal objective

Personal objective of the HRM is to assist employees to achieve their personal goals. When achieving their personal goals it will motivate them and organization can get the maximum contribution from them. It also help the organization to retain their employees.

·         Performance appraisal

·         Placement

 

Conclusions

Human resource management plays a vital role in an organization. Its prime objective is to availability of competent peoples in the right place in the organization, apart from that social, functional , organizational and personal objectives of human resource management is important to organization to achieve its vision mission and goals efficient and effective manner while minimizing the negative social impact toward the organization.
